PC or Mac? Windows or Linux? Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera or Safari?? Browser specific "hacks" that do not validate, or clean code that breaks in non-compliant, or outdated broswers???
It can be a serious challenge coding both the front and back ends of a template to be fully compatible under every possible hardware and software platform. Browser versions themselves can present their own unique challenges. I cannot begin to imagine the billions of development hours that have been wasted thanks to Microsoft!!! But I digress....
BP has made every attempt to preserve browser compatibility across all popular hardware platforms and software environments. BP will load additional stylesheets to increase the odds of compatibility based on a visitor's browser. For instance, there are specific stylesheets for MS Internet Explorer (IE) 6 and IE 7. BP does not employ any browser specific "hacks" as many/most of these do not "validate".
Despite the developers' attempt to preserve compatibility, we have elected to maintain compatibility with only the latest generation of the most popular browsers if, and only if, we were faced with a compatibility issue that was simply too difficult, or ugly, to implement for every possible scenario. The greatest attention was given to Firefox and MS Internet Explorer, with Opera and Safari coming in second and third respectively. The developers feel that any possible inconvenience this may present to your visitors can be easily resolved by encouraging your visitors to upgrade to the latest, standards-compliant browsers, some of which include affiliate revenue potential, such as Firefox.
If you, or your visitors, discover browser or hardware specific problems, please feel free to let us know, and every attempt will be made to resolve those issues in the next BP release. Better yet - if you also provide a solution, we will be eternally greatful and consider turning the entire bp project over to you so we can go get some much needed sleep!! LOL!!!
That is merely an improvement for other aspects. I have reviewed your site. Everything looks fine to me. What exactly is not wrapping on window resize??
You're correct about the text not wrapping if it's resized as the overflow from the sidebars is hidden. This may have been set as an IE6 'fix'
Thanks for all your help. If you ever fix the IE6 "fix" and get text to wrap again, let me know.
Actually after reading all questions & answers helped me to get all working. Thanks all
